MountainView Regional Medical Center has announced the addition of two new family medicine physicians to its MountainView Family Care Associates team. Jesus Figueredo, D.O., and Muhammad Farhan, D.O., both graduates of the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM), have chosen to remain in Las Cruces after completing their medical training.
Both doctors are board-certified in family medicine and expressed a commitment to serving the local community. Dr. Farhan, who also attended New Mexico State University, said, “This community has given me so much over the years. My family lives here, and I have deep personal and professional ties to Las Cruces. After residency, coming back home to serve the people and community that supported me was an easy decision. I see myself building a long-term career here.”
Dr. Figueredo, who has lived in Las Cruces since BCOM opened in 2016, also emphasized his connection to the area: “You get to care for the community that you have lived in for so long that it creates such a strong bond.”
Both physicians highlighted experiences at MountainView as influential in their decision to join the practice. Dr. Farhan completed clinical rotations at MountainView during medical school and noted, “Returning to MountainView feels like a natural continuation of my training, and I look forward to contributing as a physician. In the future, I also hope to precept Burrell medical students and provide them with similar learning opportunities.”
Dr. Figueredo credited a friend and mentor for inspiring him to begin his medical career at MountainView Family Care Associates. He described his approach by saying, “[My philosophy] is to try and treat every patient as if they were your family; everyone deserves a caring doctor.”
The two new providers are now accepting patients at MountainView Family Care Associates on South Main Street.
