The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum will host the 11th annual HomeGrown: A New Mexico Food Show & Gift Market on November 22 and 23. The event, organized in partnership with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA), aims to showcase a range of food, beverage, and craft products from across the state.
HomeGrown will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 23. Admission is $10 per vehicle, with the first 100 vehicles each day receiving a free shopping bag. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash for admission.
Approximately 60 vendors are expected at this year’s event, representing food and beverage companies throughout New Mexico. Many vendors are members of NMDA’s NEW MEXICO — Taste the Tradition / Grown with Tradition program. Products available for sampling and purchase include salsas, nuts, sauces, wine, crafts, art, Native American pottery and jewelry from northern and central regions of the state. Food trucks will also be present at the venue.
The show will feature food demonstrations by Chef Ambassador Becky Windels of FARMesilla as part of NMDA’s NEW MEXICO—Taste the Tradition initiative.
“NMDA is proud to once again co-host HomeGrown with the Museum,” said New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte. “The event highlights the best of New Mexico’s food, beverage and craft products, and we’re excited to feature one of our newest chef ambassadors as she showcases creative ways to use local ingredients this holiday season.”
Vendors include Phil’s Gourmet Sauces from Albuquerque; J.P.M’s Salsa from Las Cruces; Old Barrel Tea Company from Mesilla; Lavender Farm; Cowboy Creations by RCR candles; Roots Ruidoso coffee; Worthington Pecan Farm; FOF Foods beef jerky; My Tia’s Crunchy Granola; Kinna’s Chile Products; and New Mexico Sabor from Albuquerque. Several wineries will offer samples along with by-the-glass or bottle sales.
Doña Ana County 4-H members will return to sell decorated mini-Christmas trees and wreaths. Raffle tickets for these decorations can be purchased during the event ahead of a drawing scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
