The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) will co-sponsor the New Mexico Energy Initiative Symposium, scheduled for November 18–19, 2025, at the Fidel Center at New Mexico Tech in Socorro. The event aims to bring together a range of participants from across the state to discuss and collaborate on advancing clean energy efforts.

The symposium is hosted by New Mexico Tech and will include energy professionals, policymakers, educators, researchers, students, and community members. The focus will be on sharing ideas to support the implementation of Phase I of the Comprehensive Energy Transition Strategy (CETS) and the Climate Action Plan (CAP). The agenda emphasizes innovation, data-driven planning, and collaboration among various institutions.

Mornings during the two-day event will feature keynote addresses, presentations, and panel discussions with leaders from state agencies, higher education institutions, national laboratories, and non-governmental organizations. Topics include findings from baseline policy analysis under CETS, strategies for managing statewide energy data, and updates on both the Climate Action Plan and future directions for New Mexico’s energy sector.

Afternoon sessions will turn the Fidel Center into an open forum with booths and poster presentations from research centers, industry groups, and energy associations. Attendees can meet working groups, student teams, and innovators to exchange ideas about promising projects in New Mexico’s energy landscape.

An icebreaker reception is planned for November 17 at Deju House at New Mexico Tech to provide early networking opportunities.

"This symposium offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with those driving New Mexico’s transition toward a sustainable energy future. Registration is free," according to organizers.
