The New Mexico Economic Development Department has announced that its Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) will allocate up to $2.2 million to support training for 225 employees at 12 companies throughout the state.

JTIP provides reimbursement for at least half of trainee wages, with higher reimbursement rates available for rural positions and those filled by recent graduates from New Mexico colleges and universities. The program also encourages companies to hire locally from underserved populations. Companies receive funds after trainees complete their training.

“By investing in workforce training, we are creating pathways to prosperity for New Mexicans, helping them build valuable skills while supporting companies as they grow and thrive across the state,” said Rob Black, Cabinet Secretary for Economic Development.

The positions funded in September span several industries. Among the recipients are Humble Brands, a Taos-based company producing deodorants and personal care products sold nationwide, and Quantinuum, which focuses on quantum technology including advanced materials, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The awards reflect a variety of career opportunities within New Mexico.

This round of JTIP funding includes three companies in Santa Teresa, four in Albuquerque, two in Taos, and one each in Roswell, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe.
