Equality New Mexico is encouraging community members to participate in local phone banking and canvassing efforts during the upcoming election season. The organization emphasizes the importance of engaging with voters to ensure LGBTQ voices are represented.
In a statement, Equality New Mexico said, "At Equality New Mexico, we know that real change happens when our communities come together. And that change is even more powerful when we start to create it in our own communities! Every conversation matters, and your time and energy help us build power across the state."
The group has organized several opportunities for volunteers to get involved. Canvassing events are scheduled for October 11, October 18, October 25, November 1, and November 2. Phone banking sessions will take place on October 14, October 16, October 21, October 23, and October 28.
According to the organization, these activities aim to connect with voters and highlight what is at stake for LGBTQ individuals in New Mexico during this election cycle.
"Every hour you give brings us closer to a New Mexico where all LGBTQ people can thrive," Equality New Mexico stated. "Thank you for showing up and helping us build power together."
