New Mexico Fire & EMS Expo returns with expanded training opportunities

Firefighters, EMS personnel, and emergency responders from across New Mexico are set to gather in Socorro for the 12th annual New Mexico Fire & EMS Expo. The event, organized by the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office and the New Mexico EMT Association, will be held from October 8 to 12 at both the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy and the Socorro Convention Center.

The expo will offer 130 hours of training courses, a memorial ceremony honoring fallen firefighters, an awards ceremony, and opportunities for networking among participants. Organizers say the event is designed to provide advanced training and hands-on practice for first responders.

“This expo is a chance for our first responders to build real-world skills, forge connections, and elevate the fire and EMS expertise in New Mexico,” said State Fire Marshal Randy Varela. “Last year, we had over 300 responders registered, and we hope to see that number grow this year.”

The annual event has become a regular opportunity for learning and collaboration among those who serve in emergency response roles throughout the state. Organizers expect hundreds of participants this year, emphasizing the value of statewide partnerships in emergency services.

Additional details about registration or vendor and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Fire and EMS Expo registration event website.
