MaxPreps releases updated New Mexico high school football rankings after week two

The latest MaxPreps football rankings have been released following the completion of week two of the 2025 season. The updated standings, published on August 31, cover five classes in New Mexico high school football.

In Class 6A, Cleveland holds the top position, followed by Las Cruces and La Cueva. Centennial and Volcano Vista round out the top five. Other teams making the list include Hobbs, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Alamogordo, and Piedra Vista.

For Class 5A, Artesia leads the rankings. Roswell and Lovington take second and third place respectively. Gadsden and Deming are also in the top five for this class.

Bloomfield is ranked first in Class 4A, with St. Pius X and Bernalillo close behind. Portales and Silver complete the upper half of this group’s standings.

St. Michael’s sits at number one in Class 3A. Robertson follows in second place with Dexter at third. NMMI and West Las Vegas fill out positions four and five.

In Class 2A, Texico is at the top spot while Santa Rosa takes second place. Eunice ranks third with Jal fourth and Raton fifth among others listed in this category.

The MaxPreps rankings provide a snapshot of team performances across different divisions after two weeks of play.
