Senator Michael Padilla, a Democrat representing New Mexico's 14th Senate district since 2013, has recently shared updates on his legislative activities and support for the state's Democratic caucus through several posts on social media.
On August 17, 2025, Padilla posted in support of fellow legislators: "Supporting our NM House Democratic Caucus. We have a lot of work to do, and this group is working hard. @NMSenateDems @NMHouseDems @SenPadilla #nmpol #nmleg https://t.co/uq88PO8YZR".
Two days later, on August 19, he documented an early start to attend finance committee hearings: "Up before dawn and on the road by 5 a.m. to make it to Las Cruces for Legislative Finance Committee hearings. Important conversations happening today about New Mexico’s future! @senpadilla @nmsenatedems #nmpol #nmleg https://t.co/GaQMNSlBZt".
On August 20, Padilla highlighted his visit to Southern New Mexico while addressing infrastructure concerns amid anticipated regional growth: "Ran into this statue of Mine That Bird at the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino in Southern New Mexico. We are here to help the community with its infrastructure needs as it contemplates doubling in size over the next decade due to massive growth at Santa Teresa. @NMSenateDems https://t.co/0UXEYTk5CI".
Padilla has served in the New Mexico State Senate since 2013 after succeeding Eric Griego. As a member of the legislature, he has been active in both supporting party initiatives and engaging with issues concerning economic development and infrastructure within his district and across southern New Mexico.
