The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) is inviting vendors to submit proposals for the provision of dental and vision benefits for state employees. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of health care services provided to public employees and their families.

Alex Castillo Smith, Deputy Cabinet Secretary of the Health Care Authority, emphasized the importance of this opportunity, stating, “This is a critical opportunity to modernize the dental and vision benefits available to public employees and their families.” The HCA is seeking partners who are committed to affordability, access, and quality care for New Mexicans.

Currently, the HCA administers health benefits that provide dental coverage to over 65,000 individuals and vision coverage to more than 55,000 across New Mexico. These procurements are part of ongoing reforms aimed at ensuring members receive high-quality, affordable health care tailored to their needs.

Selected vendors will be expected to enhance member experiences, deliver measurable health outcomes, and maintain extensive provider networks. The HCA is particularly interested in proposals that offer affordable coverage options, expand provider networks, incorporate evidence-based benefit designs, and ensure exceptional customer service.

Castillo Smith further encouraged potential vendors by saying, “We encourage qualified vendors to respond to these RFPs and join us in our mission to make improve the health and economic security of New Mexicans.”

Interested vendors can find the official Request for Proposal (RFP) documents on the New Mexico Sunshine Portal or through the HCA procurement website. Proposals must be submitted by August 18.

Additionally, the HCA provides written information in English and Spanish and offers interpretation services in 58 languages through CTS Language Link. For those with hearing or speech impairments, Relay New Mexico offers free 24-hour communication access via telephone.
