Residents of Lincoln County who lost food due to recent flooding have until July 28 to request emergency replacement of their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) is offering this support to help families affected by fire-related damages. Eligible SNAP households in ZIP codes 88345, 88346, and 88355 can apply for replacement benefits.

"We’re committed to helping the residents of Lincoln County recover from the recent flooding," said Niki Kozlowski, Income Support Division Director. "We’re helping families replace food that was lost—ensuring they have access to the nutrition they need during this challenging time."

Residents can report food loss by calling (800) 283-4465 between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., or by visiting the HCA office at 26387 Hwy 70, Ruidoso Downs, NM 88346, from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. To qualify for replacement benefits, households must be current SNAP recipients living in the affected ZIP codes and report their losses verbally or in writing by July 28. No documentation of specific food items is required.

Additionally, SNAP customers across New Mexico can replace lost or damaged EBT cards using the FIS EBT Edge app, visiting www.ebtedge.com, calling 1-800-843-8303, or contacting their local HCA office.

This initiative affects approximately 3,910 New Mexicans and follows Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s executive order declaring a state of emergency in Lincoln County due to flooding. The HCA emphasizes that eligible households should act quickly as replacement benefits are processed only if reported before the deadline.
