The New Mexico State Fair will host its annual Military & Veterans Day on September 9, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque. The event is organized by the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS), the New Mexico National Guard, and the New Mexico State Fair to honor military service members.
In addition to the fair's regular attractions, there will be booths and exhibits staffed by NMDVS, the New Mexico National Guard, VA, and various veterans' organizations and community groups. Military veterans and active-duty service members can enter the fair for free with valid identification or in uniform.
A special ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the NMSF Pavilion Stage in the food court area. The fairgrounds will remain open until 9 p.m.
To gain free admission, veterans must present specific identification such as a Uniformed Services Retiree Identification Card or a DD-214 Separation Paper. Active-duty personnel need to show a valid Uniformed Services ID card. Parking fees still apply for all attendees, and non-military family members are not eligible for free entry.
