On June 19, Lovelace Health System announced the appointment of Michael Kueker as interim CEO. Kueker, who is currently the CEO of Lovelace Medical Group, will serve in this role while a national search is conducted for a permanent replacement following the resignation of Troy Greer.
Vesta Sandoval, MD, chief medical officer of Lovelace Health System, commented on Greer's departure: "We are grateful for Troy’s leadership over the past two years, during which Lovelace has continued to evolve to better serve communities across New Mexico." She added that under Greer's leadership, "Lovelace made meaningful strides in system integration, growth and continuous quality improvement."
Sandoval expressed confidence in Kueker's ability to lead during this transition. "With Michael’s leadership, we are confident the Lovelace team will continue building on this progress to meet the diverse healthcare needs of our region," she said.
Before joining Lovelace in 2023, Kueker was vice president of physician practice operations at Community Health Systems. He holds a degree from Kansas State University and an MBA from William Woods University. Additionally, he is set to join the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
In related news, Brian Miller, CEO of Lovelace Medical Center, will take on additional duties as interim CEO for Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital.
