The 911 emergency surcharge in New Mexico is set to rise from $0.51 to $1. This adjustment, the first since 2005, aims to support statewide 911 emergency dispatch operations. Additionally, the telecommunication relay surcharge will increase from 0.33% to 1.66%. The revenue generated from this change will fund the 988 crisis lifeline operations throughout New Mexico. The 988 line is a national service dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health emergencies.
