The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (NMPRC) is set to hold its next regular open meeting in Las Cruces. Scheduled for Thursday, June 26, the meeting will take place at the Doña Ana County Government Center and will also be streamed live on the NMPRC’s YouTube channel.
Several active cases with the Commission could impact electric and gas services for Las Cruces area customers. Among these is El Paso Electric's application for approval of its Renewable Energy Act Plan for 2026. Additionally, two stakeholder engagement workshops are planned for July 1 and July 24 regarding El Paso Electric’s upcoming Integrated Resource Plan, which is crucial for forecasting future energy needs.
The NMPRC encourages participation from residents and stakeholders, emphasizing that public input is vital to fair decision-making. Those wishing to provide public comment can attend in person or online. To sign up for online or phone comments, individuals should email public.comment@prc.nm.gov or call 505-490-7910 by 5 p.m. the day before the meeting. In-person attendees do not need to sign up in advance. Written comments can be sent to prc.records@prc.nm.gov.
This meeting aligns with the NMPRC’s strategic goal of increasing outreach beyond the Santa Fe-Albuquerque corridor.
