Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has announced that rural health care providers in New Mexico can apply for $20 million from the Rural Health Care Delivery Fund starting July 1. This funding is part of the governor's ongoing efforts to enhance health care access in rural areas of the state.

"This $20 million investment demonstrates our dedication to improving rural health care access across New Mexico," said Gov. Lujan Grisham. "We encourage all eligible providers to take advantage of this opportunity and work with my administration to strengthen the health care services in their communities."

The new funding follows an initial $126 million investment made over the past two years, which supported rural health care providers by offsetting operational costs and expanding services. The current funding cycle aims to increase access to primary care services statewide, focusing on strengthening community health infrastructure and improving health outcomes.

To assist interested providers, a webinar titled "FY26-28 Rural Health Care Delivery Fund: Overview and Application Guidance" will be held on July 2 from 4 to 5 p.m. MDT. The session will provide details on eligibility requirements, application timelines, and tips for successful proposals. Providers are encouraged to register for the webinar through the provided link.
