Peter Lorenz, the CEO of Unirac Inc., is set to take on the role of Chairman for the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors starting in July. This marks his second term since 2022. In an interview with the Albuquerque Journal on June 8, Lorenz discussed his upcoming responsibilities and the chamber's priorities.
According to Lorenz, the chamber will continue focusing on major issues facing Albuquerque: education, public safety, and Downtown transformation. He emphasized that the chamber's approach allows for continuity and long-term planning without the pressure for immediate results. "What I love about the chamber is we’re not active politicians, so you get continuity with us," he stated. "We don’t need to look for instant gratification. We have the time to work on these big issues and figure out how to effect positive change for everybody."
The Santa Fe New Mexican also highlighted Lorenz's return as chair in a piece published on May 25.
