The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has announced the completion of a $3.5 million roadway rehabilitation project on NM 475, known as Hyde Park Road. The road is now fully open to the public.
The project started in fall 2024 but was paused during winter due to weather conditions. Work resumed two weeks ago and concluded today.
Improvements included patching and reinforcing deteriorated sections and repaving seven miles in both directions. The final phase, which involves restriping for better safety and visibility, will be completed early next week.
Cutler Repaving, the contractor, worked from Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., to speed up the process and reduce community disruption.
"NMDOT extends its sincere thanks to all road users for their patience and support throughout the duration of the project."
