The annual Conference on Aging is set to take place this year, bringing together seniors, caregivers, service providers, and advocates from across the state. The event will span three days and focus on healthy aging and vibrant living under the theme "EngAGE as you Age." Attendees can participate in sessions covering topics such as health and wellness, Alzheimer's and dementia care, adult abuse, neglect and exploitation, fraud prevention, and caregiver support.

In addition to educational sessions, the conference will offer various interactive activities like stargazing in Glorieta's night skies, pickleball, mini-golf, guided hikes, cultural dance performances, a social dance, and a resource expo featuring community partners and state agencies.

Registration for the conference will open later this summer with priority given to senior centers in New Mexico. General public registration will follow. Emily Kaltenbach, Cabinet Secretary for the Aging and Long-Term Services Department stated: “We are proud to offer a space where older New Mexicans can gather to learn, engage in activities, and access valuable resources in a supportive and fun environment.” She added that the theme reflects their commitment to empowering seniors by staying active and informed.

Further details including registration dates, lodging options, and the full agenda will be announced later this summer. Interested individuals can visit aginginnm.org or sign up for updates at aging.nm.gov/receive-our-newsletter.
