OPINION: No kings, no brains

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

This year, I’ll be celebrating Flag Day along with most of my fellow Patriotic Americans. But some people in Santa Fe and around the state will be participating in the “No Kings” leftist day of protest. I guess the “Hands Off” protest, if you even remember that one, failed to attain the desired results so they’re trotting out the tired old song and dance again. It’s supposed to be a peaceful protest, so everybody be sure to watch out for burning cars out there.

The claim is made that they are responding to “authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies.” Well, I’d like to rebut these Democrat claims with a little fact check of my own. Let’s start with the accusation that Trump is a king. Wrong, Trump was elected to a second term in November 2024 winning the popular vote, the electoral college and all of the swing states. There was nary a hanging chad to be found on Election Day as Trump cruised to a dominating victory. On the other hand, Kamala Harris bypassed the democratic process to be crowned heir apparent by a shadowy group of party insiders.

If we’re going to be looking for the American equivalent of a king, look no further than the Democrats last president Joe Biden, and the growing autopen scandal. As the mentally diminished Biden sat teetering on his throne, the advisors ruled through the use of the autopen. Whether it was Ron Klain, Anita Dunn or another White House insider, we can see historical parallels to monarchs of the past. When Elizabeth the First became Queen of England in 1558 at the age of 25, William Cecil and Sir Francis Walsingham were the true powers behind the throne.

When King Louis XIII came to power in France in 1610 at the age of 9, it was Cardinal Richelieu who was actually in charge of running the country. So, if Democrats really are against kings, what were they doing the last four years when Washington DC functioned much like these monarchies of old. They should have been out protesting themselves for their subversion of democracy. Now they’re just mad that they lost the election.

And please let’s talk about corruption, shall we? The Biden’s millions from China and Russia and elsewhere have mysteriously dried up, now that the Big Guy is on the sidelines. No more board seats for Hunter, or art sales for big bucks. What do we make of the USAID scandal, where the billions we spent to end hunger in Africa, among other pursuits, seemed to vanish into leftist NGOs with little to show for it. And consider the Act Blue scandal, funneling foreign money to Dems through small dollar donations from straw donors, which has yet to be fully investigated. President Trump looks squeaky clean compared to the prior administration, which reached new heights of money laundering and theft of our tax dollars.

In a replay of 2020’s infamous summer of love, the brownshirts of the left have taken to burning and looting Los Angeles, as the Soros fueled color revolution continues apace. Buckle up and keep your head on a swivel, because if you think the Dem thugs only attack cops, feds and businesses small and large, pretty soon they will be coming after anyone who refuses to join their violent cause. We have to pause and wonder how Karen Bass, lifelong communist trained in Castro’s Cuba, not only became mayor of LA, but also came to hold important posts in the National Endowment for Democracy as well as the National Democratic Institute.

Like a high school kid who parties too much when the parents go out of town, the woke left went too far with Biden’s autopen and alienated most of America in the process. Now DEI is being ended, DOGE cuts are being enacted into law and the money spigot of the NGOs is being turned off. When Steve Bannon talks about the last scream of a dying regime, this is it. The pendulum is swinging back. Biased network reporters are getting fired, DEI consultants are getting laid off and NPR is losing their government funding. It truly is a new golden age.
