In-person registration for the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (NMDVS) Women Veterans Conference, scheduled for June 14th, is now closed. The event has reached its capacity. However, NMDVS is working on providing a virtual option and will share details on their Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as on their website at www.nmdvs.org.

The conference theme, "Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future," aims to celebrate the contributions and achievements of women veterans while acknowledging their ongoing resilience. The event will take place from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors Event Center located at 1635 University Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, NM.

State Benefits personnel will be present to assist eligible veterans and unmarried widows or widowers with applications for property tax waivers, exemptions, and park passes. Certified Veterans Service Officers will also be available to help with VA benefits claims and answer questions regarding VA healthcare eligibility and enrollment, disability compensation, and state benefits.

To verify eligibility for these services, attendees should bring necessary documents such as a copy of DD-214, NA 13038, NOAA Form 56-16, or PHS Form 1867; a VA Award Letter or any other VA correspondence related to claiming benefits; and an NM driver's license, ID card, voter registration card, or the most recent NM State Personal Income Tax Return.

For more information about claiming earned benefits, individuals can contact NMDVS at 1-866-433-8387 or visit their website at www.nmdvs.org.
