New Mexico Museum unveils interactive space history exhibit

The New Mexico Museum of Space History has announced the opening of a new exhibit called the "Wall of Firsts." This interactive display is located on the second floor of the main museum in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The exhibit allows visitors to explore significant achievements in space history through two large 86-inch screens. With a touch, photos, videos, and detailed text appear on the screens, providing insights into historical space exploration.

Museum spokesperson Olga Valanos said, "This exhibit is a fantastic addition to our museum. It’s designed to be incredibly engaging, allowing visitors to explore the rich timeline of rocketry since 1900 or delve into the lives of the history-making people who shaped space exploration."

The "Wall of Firsts" also highlights future space projects, including a mission focused on Mercury. The museum is open Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m., but it remains closed on Tuesdays.

The New Mexico Museum of Space History is part of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs and is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. It features exhibits such as the International Space Hall of Fame and the New Horizons Dome Theater.
