New Mexico Environment Department relocates services due to mechanical issues

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has announced a temporary relocation of its public-facing and in-person services from the Albuquerque field office to the Rio Rancho field office. The move is due to persistent mechanical system failures at the Albuquerque location, which is situated in the Springer Square Building at 121 Tijeras Ave. NE.

The Rio Rancho field office, located at 4359 Jager Dr. NE, Suite B, will provide all services previously available in Albuquerque. These include new business permits, permit renewals, and technical assistance. The department emphasizes that this change is necessary as ongoing conditions at the leased building do not currently support a safe or functional work environment for employees or the public.

For inquiries regarding services at the Rio Rancho field office, individuals can contact (505) 771-5980.

NMED affirms its commitment to non-discrimination on various grounds including race, color, national origin, disability, age, or sex in its programs and activities. This adherence aligns with applicable laws and regulations such as Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other federal mandates.

Questions about NMED’s non-discrimination policies can be directed to Kate Cardenas, Non-Discrimination Coordinator at NMED's Santa Fe address or via phone at (505) 827-2855. Those who believe they have experienced discrimination within an NMED program or activity are encouraged to contact the Non-Discrimination Coordinator.
