In a time when political division is tearing at the fabric of our nation, I believe it's time we ask a deeper question—one that transcends party lines and pierces to the heart of our identity: Are we living as Republicans, Democrats, or as Biblical citizens?
Our culture has conditioned us to think in red and blue, left and right. We've been told that our values must be boxed into political ideologies, yet many of us profess a higher allegiance—to God and His Word. If that is true, then our first and final standard must not be a party platform but God’s law.
When we support policies or leaders, the question we must ask ourselves isn’t, “What does my party say?” but “Does this align with Biblical principles?” Are we standing with life, truth, righteousness, and justice as defined by Scripture? Or have we traded Biblical conviction for political convenience?
Being a Biblical citizen means more than voting. It means living according to God’s truth in every sphere of life—home, church, workplace, and yes, the public square. It means advocating for the unborn, standing for the sanctity of marriage, defending religious liberty, and caring for the poor—not because a party told us to do it, but because God’s Word compels us to do it. God is not a Republican. God is not a Democrat. He is holy, sovereign, and just. His Word is unchanging, even when the culture shifts. Our allegiance to Him must be greater than our loyalty to any political brand.
So, before the next debate, ballot, or social media post, let’s ask ourselves: What am I really supporting? Does it reflect the kingdom of man—or the kingdom of God?
Let’s be bold enough to rise above politics and live as true Biblical citizens, guided not by party lines, but by the eternal truth of God’s Word.
