The New Mexico State Bar Foundation's Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) is set to hold a free legal workshop and Power of Attorney Clinic on May 20 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This event will take place at the Munson Center, located at 975 Mesquite St., from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mountain Time.

The session will begin with a legal workshop led by an LREP attorney from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Topics covered will include Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, probate, estate planning, Transfer on Death Deeds, Medicaid, and Long-Term Care.

Following the workshop, there will be a Power of Attorney Clinic from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., which requires advance registration. During this clinic, attorneys will assist in preparing and executing documents related to Powers of Attorney and Advance Health Care Directives for seniors aged 55 and older.

This initiative is produced in collaboration with the New Mexico Aging & Long Term Services Department. It aims to provide residents with information on future planning options both for themselves and their families.

New Mexico residents interested in attending can register by calling either 1-800-876-6657 or 505-797-6005 and providing their name and email address. Those unable to attend can still seek assistance through the LREP Helpline using the same contact numbers.
