New Mexico State Bar Foundation offers free legal webinars for elderly in May

The New Mexico State Bar Foundation’s Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) is organizing two free virtual legal webinars in May.

The first session is scheduled for May 13 at 11 a.m. Mountain Time. It will address topics such as Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, probate, non-probate transfers including Transfer on Death Deeds, and Institutional Medicaid. Residents of New Mexico can register online at https://bit.ly/LREP-May-13 or by calling 505-797-6005, providing their first and last name and email address. Upon registration, participants will receive a confirmation email with details on how to join the webinar.

The second webinar is set for May 20 at 11 a.m. Mountain Time. This session will focus on Powers of Attorney, covering Financial Power of Attorney and Advance Health Care Directive. Topics include considerations when selecting an agent, powers to grant an agent, revoking a Power of Attorney document, and consequences of not having one during times of need.
