The New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) is inviting chefs to apply for its NEW MEXICO—Taste the Tradition Chef Ambassador Program. This initiative provides chefs with the chance to represent and promote New Mexico agriculture through various platforms, including food, media, and live events within the state and beyond.

Applications are currently being accepted, with a deadline set for June 20, 2025. Interested chefs can find application materials and full details on the NMDA's website. Completed applications along with required attachments must be submitted via email, ensuring that the applicant’s name is included in the subject line.

The Chef Ambassador Program was established by NMDA’s Marketing and Development Division in 2018. It aims to offer chefs an opportunity to advocate for local agriculture, engage with consumers, and highlight products grown in New Mexico both locally and nationally.

Jeff Witte, New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture, emphasized the importance of this program by stating: “New Mexico agriculture is about families feeding families—and it’s vital to our state’s economy.” He further noted that "our locally grown and made products reach markets and restaurants across the country and beyond."
