ABB Installation Products recently unveiled a major expansion of its manufacturing facility located on Albuquerque’s West Side. Growing its footprint significantly, the company completed a $40 million project to add a 90,000-square-foot expansion, now known as the South Building. The expansion doubles the site's production capacity and aims to generate 150 new jobs.

The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 10, celebrating this milestone. With the expansion, the facility at 6625 Bluewater NW expects to significantly increase its output and workforce. ABB Installation Products, a division of ABB Group, has already filled 100 of the 150 new positions. The company, known for its global presence with manufacturing operations on every continent and 110,000 employees, plans to hire the remaining 50 employees in the foreseeable future.

In addition to the $40 million spent on the South Building, the company has allocated an extra $15 million for improvements encompassing both the newly expanded facility and the existing North Building. Jack Bellissimo, ABB’s senior vice president of product portfolio and strategy, confirmed that with these changes, total employment at the Albuquerque campus now exceeds 565.

The Chamber acknowledged ABB's expansion and noted that the company has been a member of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce since 2014.
