Life Ministries U.S. has initiated a billboard campaign in Texas to address the issue of abortion tourism into New Mexico. The campaign includes three billboards, two digital and one static, placed along major roadways leading to New Mexico. These billboards feature the website PregnancyHelpToday.com, which offers information, resources, and financial assistance for pregnant women in crisis through the Abortion Free New Mexico Life Fund.

Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Life Ministries U.S., said that the campaign aims to "encourage Texas women to 'Turn Around' and not come to New Mexico to end the lives of their pre-born children." She emphasized that the ability for women to bypass Texas abortion laws by traveling interstate represents a "real constitutional crisis."

The campaign faced challenges as two major billboard companies, Lamar and Lindmark, rejected their advertisements. Lamar canceled a contract due to "abortion pill reversal language" on the website PregnancyHelpToday.com. Lindmark initially approved but later rejected the design over concerns about potential vandalism.

According to a report from the Pinon Post, "14,200 Texas babies were killed in the womb in New Mexico," highlighting an increase since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Shaver criticized what she described as efforts by New Mexico politicians and Planned Parenthood to promote abortion tourism into the state.

Abortion Free New Mexico is focused on closing abortion facilities through research and public exposure. Bud and Tara Shaver have been active in this mission since 2010.
