A new art exhibition at the South Broadway Cultural Center in Southeast Albuquerque presents large original paintings by seven Indigenous muralists. The exhibition, titled “Walls of Resilience: Indigenous Wisdom Confronting Planetary Crisis,” opens with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3.
According to the event description, the participating artists use their work to express the idea of "Land Back" in public spaces, reflecting Indigenous perspectives on contemporary issues. The artists featured in the exhibition include Jerry Brown, Mallery Quetawki, 3 Sisters Collective, Heck Ironcloud, Saba, Skindian Art, and Deborah Jojola.
This exhibition will remain open to the public until May 24, with viewing hours scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Both the opening reception and the exhibition itself are free of charge.
