On February 18, 2025, over 100 educators, legal experts, and advocates gathered for Housing Education Day. The event was organized by the ABC Community School Partnership alongside the City of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, Albuquerque Public Schools, UNM School of Law, and New Mexico Legal Aid. The focus was on addressing housing instability and homelessness prevention.

UNM School of Law's Associate Dean Serge Martinez, Professor Allison Freedman, and third-year law students Dante Gurule and Alicia Ulibarri played a key role by presenting on New Mexico’s eviction process. Their presentations covered the legal procedures, rules, and regulations concerning eviction hearings while offering resources to those impacted by housing challenges.

With support from Judge Jason Jaramillo's chambers at Metro Court, a live Zoom link was established for attendees to observe actual courtroom proceedings. Dean Martinez, Professor Freedman, and attorneys from New Mexico Legal Aid provided explanations on significant moments during the processes.

The event's objective was to foster community unity and strengthen support systems for families dealing with housing issues.
