The University of New Mexico's School of Law recently participated in the 2025 Mock Trial Competition held in Oklahoma City. Competing against 13 other law schools with a total of 26 teams, the team put in rigorous preparation over nearly six weeks.

Marrisa Casados, a third-year law student, highlighted the dedication involved in preparation, stating, “Each team member puts in lots of time and effort into the case by collaborating, strategizing, and overall working very hard.” The team received guidance from Steve Scholl, a UNM School of Law Distinguished Alumnus from the class of 1989, along with other legal community volunteers. Casados expressed gratitude, saying, “It is great to see how many former mock trial competitors are happy to return to our law school and invest their own time into us to help us improve our skills.”

Trisha Romero, another third-year student, shared the personal impact of the experience: “Mock Trial has changed my life, what law I want to practice, and how I attack law in general. I have learned so much and it will be my favorite memory of law school.”

The School of Law expressed appreciation to the alumni and community members who contributed their time to assist with the competition.
