The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women (CSVANW) is organizing an event in collaboration with the New Mexico Indian Affairs Department (IAD) on May 5, 2024. The gathering, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will take place at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque. This event is titled “Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR) Day.”
The purpose of this event is to offer a platform for families affected by the MMIWR crisis in New Mexico and the Four Corners Region. It aims to provide these families with an opportunity to share their stories and provide updates.
CSVANW representatives and community members will be available for interviews following a press conference. The organization remains committed to supporting MMIWR families and advocating for justice, awareness, and prevention.
