CWA Chapter Leader on abortion laws: 'Silence in the face of this evil is no longer an option'

Denise Weaver, the prayer chapter leader for Concerned Women for America (CWA), has called for an end to the silence surrounding abortion. She emphasized the need for truth, repentance, and advocacy to combat what she describes as a culture of death. Weaver made these remarks at the Save The Babies Rally on January 29.

"There is no greater evil in our day than the killing of innocent babies," said Weaver. "You will hear truth about the abortion industry. Unconstitutional laws that promote the death of babies."

In her speech, Weaver said that the rally aimed to expose the "lies and deceptions" surrounding abortion and to "speak boldly in defense of the babies in the womb." She argued that the right to life is "not a states’ rights issue" but a fundamental, God-given right that should be protected nationwide. Weaver concluded by saying, "The truth has the power to change hearts and minds, and we must boldly defend the lives of the unborn," urging attendees to take action in their communities.

According to reports from the Guttmacher Institute, New Mexico currently has no gestational limits on abortion and provides state-funded access. This situation has made it a destination for out-of-state patients seeking procedures. In 2023 alone, over 20,000 abortions were performed in New Mexico, leading to debate over whether this constitutes "abortion tourism" or is simply ensuring healthcare access.

The American Psychological Association notes that while 95% of women in the Turnaway Study felt abortion was the right decision for them, some reported experiencing emotional distress or regret over time. Pro-life advocates have highlighted post-abortion stress syndrome (PASS), although it is not formally recognized by major medical groups. This has sparked ongoing debate about the necessity of mental health support in post-abortion care.

Weaver is also a certified behavior analyst with more than 15 years of experience in disability services. Since 2014, she has been with Behavior Change Institute (BCI) as clinical director, overseeing assessments, treatment programs, and parent training.
