Migrants attempting to evade detection in the El Paso Sector were arrested by Lordsburg agents of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), according to a December 2 post on X by Sector Chief Anthony "Scott" Good.

Good provided additional details about the incident, stating, "Migrants were apprehended in a failed smuggling scheme as they attempted to avoid detection by wearing camouflage. Thanks to Lordsburg BP Agents!"

The Lordsburg Station, located in Lordsburg, New Mexico, has an unclear origin date. However, records indicate that a single patrol inspector was assigned to Cloverdale, southwest of Lordsburg, in 1928. By 1931, the Lordsburg Liberal mentioned a Border Patrol station in the area. The station currently oversees 80 miles of international border and covers 4,256 square miles in southwestern New Mexico as part of the El Paso sector.

The U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector manages approximately 268 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border across West Texas and New Mexico. This includes operations at stations in Lordsburg, Deming, and Santa Teresa. Agents patrol diverse terrains such as urban areas, deserts, and mountains to secure the border. The sector is tasked with processing individuals encountered along the border and collaborates with state and local law enforcement for security operations. It employs surveillance technology to detect unauthorized crossings and other activities.
