Age 88, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Quica was a very loving daughter. She loved her parents very much. She grew to be a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening her plants. She very much loved tending to her grandchildren by making her famous champurrado and tamales. She also enjoyed knitting. Quica loved our father God and was a devout Christian. She showed her love for God by the way she loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo and Cristina Soto Garcia; husband, Agapito Carrera; brothers, Santiago Angel and Antonio Soto; sons, Manuel Armando and Luciano Carrera.
She is survived by her children, Lorenzo Soto and wife, Belen Soto, Jose Carrera and wife, Teresa Carrera, Delia Barajas and husband, Heriberto Barajas, Sergio Carrera, Alejandro Carrera and wife, Hilaria Carrera, Andres Carrera, Connie Lam and husband, Ruben Lam; 24 grandchildren; various great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Maria Soto and Cristina Soto.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 01, 2023 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at 2:30 pm at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Soto, Jose Carrera, Alejandro Carrera, Andres Carrera, Ruben Lam and Heriberto Barajas.
