Obituary
Mary Ann Baer passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at the age of 79 after a courageous 13-year battle with breast cancer. She was born on August 4, 1943, in Albuquerque, NM to Menhard and Iola Albers. Mary Ann completed her Bachelor's degree at the College of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande and a Master's degree at New Mexico Highlands University.
For most of her forty-plus 40 years of teaching, she taught in the Anton Chico and Santa Rosa schools working with special education students. She showed compassion and patience with her students as she shared her passion for learning. Education is one of the most important achievements she would emphasize for everyone but especially for her children, Joseph Lucero and Victoria Lemos; son-in-law, Richmond; and granddaughters, Evelyn, Alyssa, and Sara. She is also survived by her brother, Menhard Lloyd Albers; and her sister, Viola Metheny.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 17, 2023, 4:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at San Jose Catholic Church of Anton Chico.
