Obituary
Eleanor Mary Higgins, 94, of a resident Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughter of John and Caroline Jagodzinski, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
She attended Kelly High School in Chicago, Illinois, and was a pioneering woman, earning her B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Illinois in 1951. Eleanor was a loving wife and mother and returned to the retail pharmacy business in the mid-1970s. In later years, she came to love the game of golf, a passion she passed on to her grandson. Eleanor and her golfing friends organized an annual Toys for Tots Christmas celebration. She loved weaving, especially rugs, and more recently became an avid Mahjong player.
Eleanor is survived by a daughter, Carol; son-in-law, Andre'; and grandson, Gaetan.
Friends may visit Tuesday, April 11, 2023, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside. Eleanor will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery next to her husband of 70 years, Robert Lee Higgins, who pre-deceased her in 2022.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
