Mary March

June 29, 1928 — February 15, 2023

Mary Miller Payne- Joyner March was born to Ocell and Frankie Miller on June 29, 1928. She was the first born of eleven children. Mary married Joe Payne to which six children were born Billy, Scherrie, Veda, James, Judy, Yovanne and Anne.

She is survived by one daughter Veda Cowan and son in law Leonard Randolph: four sisters, two brothers, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by five of her children Billy, Scherrie, James, Judy, Anne, two husbands Vernice Joyner, Robert March and one granddaughter Rashida.

Mary showed the true meaning of being a Christian, there was never a harsh or bad word spoken about anyone from her mouth. Soft spoken, smiling and trusting is what you saw with Mary.  Very faithful in church until she was unable to attend (which was about a year ago).

She was a strong woman knowing God was in control and that he would see her through. (Which he did!). Mary, Miss Mary and Grandma Mary all terms of names for her.

She was a joy to her family, friends and her church family. She will truly be missed.

Gone but never forgotten.
