Obituary
Our beloved Vonna went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the age of 90 with family by her side.
Vonna was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Bud” Hopkins, daughter Jane Cordova, sons Michael Hopkins and Willard “Bill” Hopkins.
Vonna is survived by her son Barry Hopkins and wife Sandy; daughter Valerie Perez and husband Andres; son-in-law Ronald Cordova; grandchildren: Meghann Murray and partner Chris Hamilton, Ryan Hopkins and wife Leah, Candice Padilla and husband Doug, Maddie Hopkins and partner Matt Butzier, Alec Hopkins, Kristyn St. Martin and husband Brant, Christopher Cordova and partner Amanda Shine, Matthew Perez and wife Chloe, Dominic Perez, Melissa Peralta and husband Andrew, Nicholas Perez, and Thomas Hopkins; great-grandchildren: Rylee Hopkins, Raegann Hopkins, Reed Hopkins, Ryson Hopkins, Ellie Padilla, Adam Padilla, Mason Padilla, Harper Hamilton, Khloe St. Martin, and Brantley St. Martin.
Vonna was born on February 26, 1932 in Elliot, North Dakota to Erwin and Nora Hunemuller. She had many siblings: Dale, Donna, Darlene, Janice, Noreen, and Richard. She was a graduate of Lisbon High School. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family and spending time with her many friends. Vonna loved to bake-- she made the best brownies. Vonna loved to sew and paint. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed attending all the events throughout their lives. Vonna loved being a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a part of the Sewing Circle.
Vonna's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 9:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church located at 1100 Indian School Rd NE. Service will begin at 10:00 am. Vonna will be laid to rest following the Service at Fairview Memorial Park located at 700 Yale Blvd, 87106. A reception will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church's Fellowship Hall.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Hopkins, Alec Hopkins, Christopher Cordova, Matthew Perez, Dominic Perez, Nicholas Perez, and Thomas Hopkins.
