Obituary

Barbara C. Hollowwa of Albuquerque passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the age of 100 with her family by her side. She is survived by her three sons, Kerwin (Carol), Chris (Jean) and John; she was predeceased by her husband, GC, and daughter, Barbara (Wes); and her sisters, Carmelita Karo and Virginia Empringham; and her brother, Matthew Connors. She had 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was born in 1922, to John and Helen Connors in Midwest, WY. She married her husband, GC in 1949. She was the epitome of style and grace and spent many years in the fashion scene in Albuquerque. She was chosen as Mrs. New Mexico in 1962, and she used her talents in helping others most notably in the

”Look Good Feel Better” program for cancer survivors. Barbara was active in various other charitable organizations. Barbara was also a devout member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Barbara lived independently with her husband, GC until after his passing in 2018, and spent loving and quality time with her children, and grandchildren, Sean (Jackie), Connor (Cristina), Marissa (Sam), Sara (Ryan), Lauren, and Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Charlie, Henry, Peter, Katherine, Caroline, CW, Isabella, Wesley, and Ward; as well as with extended family, James Karo and Mary Sherwood, Tim and Cheryl Karo, and Carme, and Steve Lewis, and Richard Empringham.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m., Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd Albuquerque, NM 87110. She will be interred alongside her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a private service.

The family would like to express special thanks to her caregivers at Montebello Assisted Living.
