Obituary

Chris Garcia, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023 surrounded by her family in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents Florian and Maria Herrera Lucero; brother Aban Lucero; and sister Belia Sanchez.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, George Garcia; children: Anthony Garcia (Valencia), Ricky Garcia (Julie), Bobby Garcia, Angela Garcia- Castillo (Derick), Georgia Garcia; beloved grandchildren: Christina, Marisa, Ricky, Lucas, Madeline, Olivia, Florian, and Juliana; siblings: Danny Lucero (Lynn), Jose Lucero (Blanche), Mary Lou Lucero, Carmen Barboa (Frank), Nancy Sedillo, Annalee Flores, Louisa Lucero (Pete), Tina Garcia, Modesto Lucero (Lucille); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Chris was born in 1948 in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. As well as being a homemaker, she also worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for 30 years. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was a hard worker, farming in Canon, and ranching in Cuba. She will be missed and always loved.

Chris's Life Celebration will begin with a rosary on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third Street SW Albuquerque, NM 87102. Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church located at 5901 St Josephs Dr. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
