Age 67, devoted husband, father, grandfather and son in law, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Ruben was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from West Mesa High School. Ruben then became a full contact boxer. He then started working with the city of Albuquerque in 1974 and then became a police officer in 1987. Ruben retired in 2012 to enjoy life with his grandchildren, grand pups and his father in law.
Ruben is survived by his wife Nancy Abeyta; children, Christine Abeyta, Ruben Abeyta and wife, Connie, Raymond Abeyta; grandchildren, Dylan Abeyta, Logan Abeyta; brother, Anthony Abeyta; sisters in law, Donna Herrera, Patricia Herrera, Geneva Luders; brother in law, Ramon Herrera Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gabe and Josie Abeyta; mother and father in law, Ramon and Grace Herrera.
