Obituary
Surrounded by her family, Guadalupe (Lupe) Herrera passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the age of 98. Lupe was born in Margarita, Municipio de Huejuquilla el Alto, Jalisco, México on April 29, 1924. She is survived by her daughter, Modesta Hernandez; son, Sam Herrera; two brothers, Juan and Alfonso Gonzales; twenty-one grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by three sons, Pedro and Leoncio Escalante and Andy Herrera; two sisters, Magdalena and Enedina; and four brothers, Joel, Miguel, Lodegario and Juventino. Lupe was a loving mother and friend. Her family was the joy of her life. Although we shed tears because she is gone, we smile because she touched our lives. Visitation with the family will be held at FRENCH - Westside on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
