Maria Carlota Jiron, 103 yrs. Old, A lifelong resident of Isleta Pueblo; Dec. 31, 1918, to Nov. 24, 2022; Survived by numerous nephews, nieces & godchildren; Ray Willie Abeita & wife Mary Abeita, Shirley Abeita, Peshy Martin, Husband Sam Martin & family, Nabahe Abeita, wife Annette Abeita & family, Nizhoni Abeita-Mendoza, husband Christopher Mendoza & family, Juan Rey Abeita & daughter, Bobby Abeita & daughters Sheryl & Caroline, Ricky Abeita & family, Linda & Todd Jiron, Susan Chewiwi, Hubert, Gene, & Margaret Abeita, Matthew Lucero & family. Preceded by: Mother Felicita Jiron, Father Vicente Abeita & brothers Alex & Crescencio. Carlota was a matron at the Isleta Day School for 35 years. She loved cooking, canning, and caring for others. She was commonly known as “Aunty” to the entire community. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 11:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 12:00p with a Mass to follow at 1:00pm all to be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church located at 71 Tribal Rd 35, Isleta Village Proper, NM 87022. A Burial will take place at Isleta Cemetery.
