Obituary
Gloria C. Jaramillo passed away on September 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tucumcari, NM, on February 16, 1937.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, grandson Anthony-Ray, parents Simona and Julio Chavez, brothers Benny and Bobby, sister Bessie, and numerous other family members.
She is survived by her sons Rick and Anthony; grandson Joseph; granddaughters Kimberley and Desarae; sisters Mary Anne and Georgia; brothers Frank, John, and Fred, and many other family and friends.
Gloria and her husband Joe H. Jaramillo were high school sweethearts and married for 67 years until Joe's passing in 2020. Through Joe's 24 years of service in the USAF, they were able to see and experience much of the country-from New Mexico to South Carolina, New York, Washington State, and Hawaii-before retiring back in New Mexico in 1977.
Gloria could light up a room with her smile, and her laugh was contagious. To say Gloria was hardworking is an understatement. She worked at the same store location for 34 years with four different owners.
She was the matriarch of her family, and her heart was made of gold and full of love! At 5' 1" and 112 pounds, her spirit, wit, honesty, love, sassiness, and no-nonsense charm would win over your heart in a matter of minutes.
Gloria enjoyed music, watching her shows, spending time with her family, cooking, cleaning, bingo, bowling, sewing, crocheting, roosters, and laughter.
On October 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., services for Gloria will be at FRENCH-Wyoming, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
Gramma will be forever loved, dearly missed, and never forgotten by all of her family and friends.
