Manuel “Manny” Garcia Jr., 79, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 14, 2022, after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Manny was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Mary and Manuel Garcia.
Manny graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies. However, one of Manny’s biggest accomplishments was being a father and grandfather. He worked alongside his brothers at Suits Unlimited, which started as Mr. Casual. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing aerobics, spending time with his granddaughter, and doing the electric slide every chance he could. He was a kind and loving father to his daughter Lynette, her husband Ron, and his daughter Maria Elena. Manny loved spending time with his granddaughters Gianna and Daniella. His favorite saying was “always be classy,” and this is how he chose to live his life. Aside from being survived by his daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughters, he is survived by his brother Benny Garcia (Agnes), and his brother Larry Garcia (Theresa). Among those who loved him were countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is now joined in heaven with his mother Mary, his father Manuel, his sister Ruby, and his nephew Larry Jr. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Animal Humane Society, as these were two organizations to which he donated frequently.
Services will be held at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW. Albuquerque, NM 87114, on Monday, October 3, 2022.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed immediately by Mass of Christian Burial.
