Obituary
Juan R. Candelaria “Ray”, age 78, born in Pueblitos, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on August 24, 2022. Mr. Candelaria is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-three years, Bernice Lueras Candelaria; children, Juan Rey Candelaria Jr. and wife, Stephanie, Mariscela Chavez and husband, Adam, Madalena Garcia and husband, Diego; sister in law that they cared for, Jane Lueras; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Celina and husband, Leroy, Delysia, Esperanza, Santiago, Analeya, Marcos, Diego, Viviana; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Aurora, and Tiana Lee; siblings, Luis Candelaria and wife, Lupe, Lorenzo Candelaria and companion, Dora Lovato, Vickie Glover, Priscilla Candelaria; many nieces, nephews, cousins, Six-Godchildren and many friends. Ray was very well known to the South Valley Community, he loved carpentry, and farming and was a Master Barber for many years at the Isleta Barber Shop. This gentleman was loved and respected by many and will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelio and Leocadia Candelaria; brother, Joe Candelaria, and in-laws, Julian, and Maria Lueras. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Patrick presiding. Burial will follow services to Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Santiago Chavez, Marcos Chavez, Diego Garcia, Jose Candelaria, Joaquin Candelaria, and Mateo Candelaria.
