Obituary
Abbie passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022, at the age of 89 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to James Edward Baxter and Abbie Jane Baxter, the second child but first daughter, in Mineola, NY, March 25, 1933. She had an older brother James, younger sister Alice, who has preceded her in death, but is survived by her younger brother Edward (Sonny) Baxter and his wife Minne. She was also preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Gillis L. Williams Jr., who was in the Air Force for 27 years; 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service, as they moved here in the early 1960's. She also worked at Sandia National labs, retiring from there. She is survived by 4 sons; Leslie, (Cynthia) Kenneth, Mark (Q) (Margaret) and Gillis III (Anna); numerous grand- children; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews (from coast to coast); along with many friends we call "family" as well.
Abbie will be buried at Fairview Memorial Park on Wednesday, May 25, at 9:30am with a Graveside Service presided by Reverend McFaddin of Grant Chapel.
