OBITUARY
Cecilia Harrell, age 72, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 22, 2022. Cecilia is survived by her husband, of forty-nine years, David Harrell; children, Tanya Harrell, Cristina Murillo and husband Damian, Brianna Harrell; grandchildren, Daisy, and Noah; siblings, Teri Dukeminier, Joe Abeyta, Mary Abeyta, David Abeyta, Dennis Abeyta, Larry Abeyta, Steven Abeyta and wife, Esther, and Jon Abeyta and Robert Jonathan; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio and Agnes Abeyta and brother, Paul Abeyta.
Cecilia, known lovingly by her family and friends as Cece, was a kind and gentle soul. Her kindness could never be mistaken for weakness though, as she was fierce and strong-willed when she needed to be. Cece was the eldest of ten siblings, and it was from there that her caring heart and love for children and family grew. She met her husband Dave in 1971, leading to a love story for the ages that spanned 51 years, all the way to him caring tenderly for her every need during her final years of ill health. Cece was a doting and loving mother to their three daughters. She took the pain of losing her own mother at 18 and turned it into compassion and mothering to everyone around her. Children adored her and felt her love for them. She held many caretaking roles over the years- nurse, nanny, housekeeper, homemaker, caregiver to the disabled, caregiver to the ill, volunteer with special needs children, and above all for those of us left behind- a wife, sister, cousin, niece, friend, aunt, mother, and grandmother. Her little grandchildren Daisy and Noah were the sweet lights of her life. She will watch over them and all her cherished ones as she always as, only now it will be in Heaven free from pain.
