Obituary

Raul Lloyd Ortego, age 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with aggressive metastatic lung cancer. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home.

Raul was born in Northridge, California. A graduate of Harbor College, Raul severed in the US Navy in Aviation during the invasion of Granada in Beirut. After his military service, Raul worked for Boeing as an Aviation Electronic Expert for 20 years.

He was preceded in the death of his parents, Eloy Ortega, Cleofas Perea, and nephew, Barry Lynn Aiken Jr. Raul is survived by his sisters, Janice Ortego of Lakewood, CA, Ellen (Cieslinski) and her husband, Albert Jacquez of Bernalillo, NM; niece, Katie Cieslinski of Bernalillo, NM; nephew, Kiko Verdin of Lakewood, CA; and great-nephew, Jaxon Subia of Bernalillo, NM.

A Memorial Service honoring the life Raul will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Church of the Incarnation Catholic Church, 2309 Monterrey Rd NE Rio Rancho, New Mexico followed by a reception for friends and family, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Church of the Incarnation reception area.

A Burial service will take place on Thursday, May 19, at 9:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
